Ferdiš Duša
Ferdiš Duša (13. January 1888 Frydlant nad Ostravicí -1958 Frýdlant nad Ostravcicí〔(navstevnik.kr-moravskoslezsky.cz )〕) was a Czech folk painter, graphic artist, illustrator and manufacturer of ceramics, coming from the borders of Moravia and Silesia. == Biography == He was autodidact, he did not receive any artistic education. He liked traveling, he visited, among others, Italy, Germany, Slovakia, Switzerland and Ukraine. In 1910 he started to work in a ceramic manufactory in the city Roznov pod Radhostem (in Beskydy Mountains). He did not succeed to make business. In 1927 he moved to Prague, where he developed his artistic talent. He entered to the art association Hollar as its member. He exhibited several times his pictures in Hollar. In 1955 he returned back to his bornplace in Frýdlant nad Ostravicí. His favour illustrations accomponied poems of Petr Bezruč and Vojtěch Martinek. There are frequent in his social ideas, for which he drew inspiration from the 20s and 30s of the 20th century. In addition, he photographed and wrote love poems.
